Civil Engineering


The Department of Civil Engineering started in 2025 under Notification No. EDN(TE)A(1)18/2023 dated 24th February, 2025. The Civil Engineering department of our college plays a vital role in shaping future infrastructure professionals through a strong academic foundation, practical exposure, and ethical grounding. This department at ABVGIET is committed to producing self-driven Civil Engineers with a high sense of societal responsibility and technical excellence. Each batch has an intake of 48 students, mentored by a team of 02 dedicated faculty members.

Mission of the Civil Engineering Department

  • M1: To produce skilled civil engineers with a strong foundation in core concepts and practical applications.

  • M2: To foster research and innovation in areas like sustainable construction, smart infrastructure, and environmental engineering.

  • M3: To instill leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, enabling students to thrive in multidisciplinary environments.

  • M4: To equip students with modern tools, ethical values, and lifelong learning aptitude to meet evolving global challenges.


Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

The graduates will:

  • PEO1: Have sound knowledge in civil engineering fundamentals and practical engineering skills.

  • PEO2: Be capable of adapting to technological changes and engaging in lifelong learning.

  • PEO3: Demonstrate effective communication, project management, and decision-making abilities.

  • PEO4: Work responsibly and collaboratively in teams to address complex civil engineering problems.

At the end of the program, the graduates will be able to:

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

  • PSO1: Sustainable Infrastructure and Smart Construction: Graduates will be able to design and implement environmentally sustainable structures using innovative materials, energy-efficient techniques, and smart technologies.

  • PSO2: Geotechnical and Structural Proficiency: Graduates will demonstrate expertise in analyzing and designing geotechnical foundations, structural systems, and earthquake-resistant frameworks aligned with modern codes and safety standards.
